Music Teacher (Fall 2024-Spring 2025)

Preferred Instrument experience/discipline: Voice, guitar, violin, piano or other

Job Description: Teachers at our program are responsible for creating a safe space for children to connect with adults and other children in a positive manner that promotes social growth. This may be carried out by encouraging the youth and teaching them valuable life skills such as mutual cooperation, creativity, perseverance, positive work ethic, and the importance of community. Along with instructing students in group and one-on-one lessons, teachers are responsible for co-creating curriculum in conjunction with other our other teachers. The position also requires the performance of administrative duties, including but not limited to incident reports, photocopy, program setup, end of day activities and so on.

Required Skill Set:

  • Possess evidence of professional capacity as a music teacher, through related degree, and/or ARTC. 

  • Demonstrable knowledge of music curriculum and the ability to implement it, showing evidence of openness to a variety of genres and approaches

  • Ability to interact collaboratively with students, parents, colleagues, and program administration

  • Excellent oral and written skills

  • Confident in leading a classroom of students, and one-on-one interactive lesson

  • Possess clean criminal record check and child intervention check

  • Possess strong organizational skills

  • Able to thrive working in a team environment as well as working well independently
